Updates

We have a time and place chosen for the wedding now. July 12th, 2008 at SweetGumBottom Place, Andulusia, AL. We have been working hard planning and figuring out the details of the wedding. At the end of August we are moving into an apartment together in Enterprise,AL. It's the halfway point between our current jobs, and even with a commute for us both we will save money in the long run and this will allow us to put more money away for the wedding. My parents are working on the honeymoon plans which currently are to send us to Italy for a week. Erin is very excited about that, and hopefully that will work out. Not much else to report at the moment, but I'm about to head out to work so I don't have time to dewell on it anyway. If I think of something I'll write again later.

March 3 I asked Erin to marry me. I think pretty much everyone knows by now but I figure I'd write something here. I took her to the beach that morning, undering the guise of a picnic on the beach for lunch cause it was something we had never done and then we could go shopping or whatever afterward before heading back to Dothan. After eating she got up and went to the water to check it out and I grabed the ring and hid it in my pocket. We started looking at shells that had washed up from the storm the night before and when she finally had her back turned I got down on one knee, took out the ring and said, 'Hey how about this one?'. When she turned around I asked her to marry me. She was surprised to say the least. ;) But of course she said yes. We don't have a date set other than we are aiming for sometime in July of 2008. We are gonna check out a couple places in Montgomery,AL and maybe Wetumpka and Prattville, since those 3 are a more or less central location between both of our AL families. Both families are exciting or at least happy for us, so thats good. We are both exciting and hope to see you all there. Or at least your gifts. ;)

New year new stuff

Wow it's been awhile since I've blogged here. Lots has happened in the last 3 plus months since my last one. I have the greatest girlfriend ever in Erin, and I'm very happy she took my sorry butt back. We've been doing the long distance relationship, with her living in Troy, (at least till last weekend, now she is temp in Evergreen and then moving in Feb to Andulusia) and me in Dothan. One or the other has been going to see the other on the weekends. I went with her to her family at Thanksgiving for lunch, and then my dad's house for dinner. She came to my dad's on Christmas Eve and spent the day, which went over big time with my family, who absolutely love her. I got her a PS2, Final Fantasy XII, a FFXII player's guide, and a nice Victoria Secret robe. She got me agame for the Wii, Call of Duty 3 (Wii to come sooner of later) and Star Wars Clone Wars volume 1 and 2 on dvd, which is what I asked for. For New Years I went with her to her grandparents since her mom and family was coming down from Pennsylania and she hadn't seen her in months so that was good. Michael and laura were there too, so it was sort of like old times. Last weekend I helped Erin move out of her place in Troy and put her stuff in storgage in Andulusia in prep for her move in Feb.

In non-Erin related news, lol, I'm still working for Gordon doing renovatations in Dothan. I'm really enjoying myself still and learning alot. Perhaps I'll one day use this knowledge and flip houses or something to make money. Stranger things have happened I suppose. I've tried on several occasions to get a Nintendo Wii, but everytime they have been sold out. Now I have no money, so I guess it's just as well I didn't get one. Someday soon though I will own one. Oh yes I will own one...

I guess that is all for now. I'd tell you all about my plans for Valentine's Day, but why ruin the surprise and make you look bad? ;) Perhaps afterward. If I think of anything else I'll come back and tell about it.

The reason is worth the risk

That's kind of been my motto or creed as it were, lately and it's paid off I think. Everything is going great and I'm happier than I've been in several years. Got a job I really enjoy, doing renovations and other carpentry type work, something that I would have never in a million years guessed I would be doing or would even want to be doing. I've lost about 20 lbs over the last couple months and am probally in the best shape I've been in since highschool. Also went on a date last weekend and had a good time and hope there will be more. So life in general is pretty kick ass right now. :)

Oops, looks like it's past time to update

Yeah so since my last post the following has happened. My dad got remarried, Robin got married, I went to both, I started working for my friend Mark who is a contractor in town doing work for him on the weekends and now I am working for a friend of his that is a subcontractor in town doing framing, trim, and other constrution type stuff. It's really not that bad and I actually kind of enjoy it. Who knew? I also started going to church at Covenanet Methodist Church here in Dothan with Mark and Jennifer, and hopefully I'll be able to meet some more people here in town. (new friends and nice single women). Speaking of that, Jennifer wants to fix me up with a girl from church who happens to have just graduated from Huntingdon this year. Small world. I want to go see Pirates 2, Clerks 2 and Talledaga Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby at some point this summer since I can afford to do stuff again. Anyway, that's really all that is going on. The job hunt continues to suck. I broke down and filled an application at Wendy's this week. No call from them. (thank God) I don't know what else to do. What the FUCKING HELL does a college grad have to do to get a fucking job?! I'm broke. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK. The world is against me I swear to God.

WTF?

Honestly, what the hell? It's been going on 2 weeks and I haven't gotten a call for subbing yet. I've sent in some applications for part time work at Books-a-Million and have gotten no word either. The only place I haven't tried yet to get work is Walmart and I really don't want to have to do that. That just seems like conceding defeat but really I'm being left with no other choice. I really don't understand why a college educated individual with some managerial experiance and knowlegde of computers can't even get a damn sit down interview for a job. It's starting to feel like I've wasted my life and money going to school and that I'm the biggest loser and failure that I know. And that's saying something.

Little behind but still alive

Yeah so I'm way behind posting here. I've been updating my Live Journal and myspace more lately and let this blog slide alittle. I made it through Christmas and New Years as you can tell. I am officially a substitute teacher for the Houston County school system. I haven't been called in yet but I should hear from them this week hopefully. I'm still looking for other work cause this won't be a constant thing it appears and I need a steady pay check. Got to pay the bills and I would like to have a social life and God forbid a girlfriend. Need some money to do all those things. Guess that is really it. I could go into detail about the New Years party we had or Christmas but I'm too tired to do so at the moment. Latorz.

Merry $#%^ing Christmas

Well I'm heading to my dad's for Christmas on Thurday. I'm going to meet up with Kedric while on my way through Montgomery, first though. Then I'll be in Calera until the 28, 29th, and then I'll be returning to home in Dothan to prepare for the New Years blowout party. Still need a date for that but I don't feel too bad cause I'm not the only one so far. Lance's girl he was seeing doesn't look like it's going to work out accourding to him. Also once I return, I'll be getting the finishing touches on the paperwork done so I can become a substitute teacher in the spring. Just need to get my highschool and college diplomas and get a copy of them. Pay isn't too bad, $65 a day and Happy's fiance said that she knew at the school she works at, that I would have work almost every day. So woot. I'm looking at getting a used gamecube and the new Naruto 4 fighting game once I start getting some money incoming again. That should look SWEET on matt's 7 foot screen. And lastly, Jodi and I haven't started writing the book yet, but the story is pretty much done as far as fleashing it out. It's just the details we are working on now, like names for people and places being the toughest thing so far. Hopefully after the New Year we will be able to put some pen to paper and get this bad boy started. I'll keep you all posted, so stay tuned to here or my LJ or myspace. Love and peace bitches

Different day, same old story

Well I am STILL looking for work. On a positive note to that, I signed up with Personel Resources here in Dothan, so I should hear back from them soon on job listings that they can set me interviews up with. Jody and I are still working on the book. We are finishing up the brainstorming and getting the details finished up this weekend so we can start actually writing the story itself in the next week or so. We are planning on having a New Years party here at the house so if anyone would like to come just let me know before hand. I'm guess Brannon you are still thinking about coming down? Perhaps your presence will get some others to come down to see us here. Anyway, that's all I really got to say. Somebody give me a call or IM sometime cause it's lonely down here some days.
